My name is Amber and I'm a stay-home-mom of three little ones and have been married for twelve years. We live in northeastern Washington state, where we enjoy all four seasons in their full glory!

Back in the 'old days' when computer screens were green and black, and the only graphics program available was one where you had to enter codes (left 3, right 2, up 9 etc.) I found myself fascinated with the capabilities of that little box...without a mouse!

Pretty soon those green lines were multi-colored and it lit up the screen for me! Kids these days would be horrified to see what we played with in school in the way of computers!  Not long after the colored lines was the invention of MS Paint and the mouse.

When the internet first began I was one of the first subscribers to America Online (before the AOL slang). We paid an hourly rate - $2.99/hr for the internet. My internet bill was about $300 per month at age 18. I kept my email up-to-date with midnight 'Flash Sessions' at 4800 bps. Some of you know what I'm talking about!

MS Paint (seated nicely in Windows for Workgroups...before the days of multitasking) kept me busy until I had the dream of owning CorelDRAW, a high-powered graphics program. I'd read about it in magazines (yes, I bought computer magazines). My boyfriend at the time bought it for me - that's why he's my husband now!  Needless to say I have been addicted to graphics ever since. I am a true believer that you learn by doing.

I slowly learned about downloading, uploading, gifs and jpegs...and was fascinated. My first website took about 10 minutes to load on the screen. Then I learned about image optimization. Phew!

The list goes on and on. The bottom line is that I love doing this kind of work. My brain is built for it. I never tire of it. I love to streamline, integrate and beautify. If there's a better way, I'll find it. If I don't know how to do it, I'll learn.
